A slow weekend in Assagao: where to eat, walk and swim

Assagao has become North Goa's village of good bakeries and quiet lanes. Here's how we'd spend 48 hours there.

Assagao is the kind of place where the best plan is no plan. Still, if you want a nudge, here's ours.

Morning

Coffee and a croissant from one of the village bakeries, then a walk through the lanes past the old Portuguese houses before it gets hot.

Afternoon

Back to the villa for the pool. Lunch at home - ask our chef for the fish curry.

Evening

Sunset at Vagator, dinner at one of the garden restaurants Assagao is known for, and a slow drive home.
